On Friday 21st June, 200 of us gathered underneath the horse-head sculptures at The Helix in Falkirk to perform nine songs and two dances. It was the perfect setting for us danceSinger’s to do what we do best and a beautiful way to celebrate the beginning of summer as the weather stayed dry and the sun split the skies!
The third annual event was in aid of Maggie’s Centres, who work to help anyone affected by cancer. We raised an amazing £343.67 on Friday night!
Earlier this month we took part in another fantastic event, also in aid of Maggie’s Centres. Our Music from Screen and Stage concert that took place at the Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline raised an impressive £1312.70, taking the total amount of money raised for Maggie’s to a fantastic £1672.70!
We’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who participated, spectated and supported us on Friday night, and a special thanks to all of our helpers and amazing Music and Dance Leaders. Thank you to everyone for working together to create harmony!
Speaking of the Kelpies event, Natalie Garry, danceSing Founder and Director said: “It was a danceSing highlight with over 200 people participating, creating harmony across the generations while raising funds for Maggie’s cancer care. A magical evening.”
Our Summer Solstice at The Kelpies has become a real calendar highlight for danceSing. The event brings people of all ages, from all over, together as one – from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Hamilton, to Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, and everywhere in between!
