We had a very busy, but exciting, weekend of fun, fitness and friendship at danceSing as we attended not one, but two fantastic wellbeing festivals; Mhor Fest in Balquhidder and The Big Retreat in Wales.
danceSing has been involved in both of these amazing festivals for some time now, and every year they get bigger and better! Read more about our time at each event below.
danceSing members joined leaders Mairi, Gill and Amy on Sunday for a performance and workshop at this fun family festival.
Mhor Festival took place at Monachyle Mhor Farm in the beautiful surroundings of Balquhidder in Perthshire. We had a fantastic weekend enjoying the popular festival which boasts outstanding food, music, theatre, dance and fun activities for the whole family!
danceSing ran a busy workshop at the Health and Wellbeing Stage, sharing the joys of danceSing with all ages. We also performed to a supportive crowd who joined in with our ‘9-5’ rendition, before relaxing and enjoying a well-deserved break whilst soaking up the festival vibes.
Well done to all the performers, you sounded really great and we hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did! Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us. We’re already looking forward to next year.

The Big Retreat in Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in Wales, is one of our calendar highlights at danceSing. It’s a feel-good festival, bringing together the best in health, wellbeing, music, food, arts & crafts and much more for the whole family. The event hosts over 200 carefully curated events, classes, workshops and talks through the weekend, and we are honoured to have been involved for two years now.
danceSing Founder and Director, Natalie Garry, headed to the festival along with Musical Director Lindsay and Development Director Claire. Lindsay ran three hugely successful choir workshops in the beautiful old church on the festival site. The Big Retreater’s learned ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘Seasons of Love’, and there was a performance on Sunday night on the Main Stage under the setting sun.
Natalie taught three buzzing danceSing classes and had everyone bursting with energy and enthusiasm. She also had an early morning Strength and Stretch Pilates class which was quite magical as everyone put their all into it whilst soaking up the stunning views over the estuary.
It was a really popular event and we were delighted to share our unique dancing and singing concept with the Retreat attendees in Wales – an area we’re hoping to expand to later this year!
The Big Retreat always leaves us feeling fantastic and truly lives up to its name of the ‘feel-good’ festival! We’re feeling re-charged and ready to take on the remaining exciting four weeks of the danceSing term.
