2018 highlights: An incredible year for danceSing!

2018 has been an incredible year for danceSing and 2019 is set to be even bigger and better! We have opened new classes and have plans to open more throughout Central Scotland and beyond during 2019. We also continued to proudly support SAMH, the Scottish Association for Mental Health, raising much-needed funds to help provide support to people living with someone or supporting someone with a mental health problem. Our amazing danceSing Team, as well as our valued family of danceSingers have continued to grow from strength to strength and there have been many highlights. As we prepare to say goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019, here are just a few to celebrate…

February 2018: Performance and talk at NHS Active Living event

danceSing were extremely proud to be invited to perform at the Active & Independent Living Programme 400 Yard Event at Hampden Park in Glasgow on the 1st February. The event which brought together health professionals from all over Scotland saw danceSing’s very own Founder, Director and Dance Leader Natalie Garry take to the stage and present a talk about the importance of health and wellbeing telling everyone about the amazing work and benefits of being a part of danceSing. Just one of many inspiring comments from the day included “danceSing should be on social prescription”… let’s make that happen!

April 2018: Happy Birthday danceSing

Our amazing danceSing Team were joined by many of our fabulous danceSinger’s to celebrate danceSing’s 2nd Birthday. It was great to bring the danceSing family together and in true danceSing style there was of course lots of singing and dancing, and on this special occasion, cake! We hope our danceSingers have had as much fun as our danceSing Team. We hope to welcome you back for more fun and friendship next year, book now to secure your place for the New Year Term.

May 2018: A weekend of festivals – The Big Retreat & Mhor Fest

May was an extremely exciting month as we attended not just one fantastic festival, but two! Team danceSing, joined by many of our fantastic danceSinger’s enjoyed two wonderful weekends full of fun, fitness and friendship. The sun was out but it was our danceSingers who shone whilst they performed to the busy crowds. The Big Retreat Festival in Wales saw danceSing’s Natalie Garry, along with guest Music Leader Jennifer Sim lead an energetic and extremely popular singing and dancing workshop in one of the retreat marques to huge success. The Mhor Festival in Scotland was an equally fantastic event enjoyed by Team danceSing and many of our fabulous danceSingers. We were very excited to perform a number of songs and dances on the main lawn under a vibrant pink awning on Saturday afternoon to a very busy crowd. Well done danceSingers, be very proud of yourselves. We are already looking forward to next year’s festivals… we would love to see as many of our valued danceSingers there too!

June 2018: Our Kelpies performance

Our performance on the Summer Solstice at the iconic Kelpies was quite simply a night to remember. THANK YOU to everyone who participated, spectated and supported us. The event was in aid of SAMH, the Scottish Association for Mental Health, to help provide support to people living with someone or supporting someone with a mental health problem. We raised a fantastic £343.67 at this event alone. THANK YOU to everyone who participated, spectated and supported us. Watch the video below to see us in action.
